Jay Desai, M.D.

Dr. Jay Desai is an Instructor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He attended the Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at NYU Medical Center. He specializes in colon cancer screening and inflammatory bowel disease. In addition to performing standard endoscopy and colonoscopy, he also performs anorectal manometry studies for issues of constipation and incontinence, BRAVO pH monitoring studies for acid reflux disease, breath testing for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and video capsule endoscopy for small bowel disease. He has published numerous articles and spoken at national conferences about the risks of medications and gastrointestinal bleeding.
