Serre-Yu Wong, MD, PhD, is an Instructor in the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine. She specializes in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wong’s research focus is on how inflammation begins in Crohn’s disease. Through basic and translational research, she studies how microbes interact with our intestinal tissue and immune system. Her goal is to improve prediction and prevention of inflammation in Crohn’s disease. She has been funded by the NIH and American College of Gastroenterology and is a Ruth and Gerald Dickler Scholar in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
Dr. Wong received her MD and PhD in Molecular Oncology and Immunology from the NYU School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Mount Sinai.
